I am an undergraduate student studying Engineering at the University of Alberta. I am currently studying the relationship between eye tracking and motion tracking in a surgical environment. I enjoy hiking, reading, and watching a film from time to time.

I just completed my grade 11 year at Lillian Osborne School and Iā€™m planning to apply to the UofA science department in the upcoming semester. I am currently shadowing Dr.Yang Li as he researches three-dimensional projection techniques used to reconstruct realistic models of human structures. Outside of the lab, I enjoy watching and rewatching my favourite tv shows and movies. ā€‹

I started volunteering at SSRL when I just finished my grade 11 year. I had a great time seeing all the amazing technologies that they developed. I manage the website for these amazing people. Outside the lab I mostly enjoy watching movies, and playing video games.

I am a first year undergraduate student currently doing my BSc at the University of Alberta. My research project is investigating the relationship between Parkinson's disease and stereopsis as a possible biomarker. I enjoy competitive five-pin bowling and poetry.

Shirley Zhang

I am a first-year Life Sciences student at McGill University. Currently, I am working on investigating learning curves regarding the usage of endoscopic simulators, as well as seeing the usefulness of simulators in surgical training. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, biking, traveling, painting, and photography.

My name is Dennis and I am currently a first year pharmacy student. I completed my undergrad in Honors Biochemistry at the U of A. My current project is investigating practical application of 3D modelling tools in both performing and learning of cochlear implant surgeries. My hobbies include sports (Tae Kwon Do, Badminton), instrumental music and teaching.

Mengxia Tan has been working as an neurological physician in the Second Affiliated Hospital Of Shantou University Medical College for three years. Her current project is to investigate whether stereopsis can be used as a biomarker for Parkinson's disease diagnosis.

Josh Butcher

ā€‹ I've been playing football for the past 14 years of my life. I currently enjoy playing football on the Offensive Line for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. I am hoping to use the knowledge I've gained from my football experiences with film work to analyze team behaviours in the OR. I also enjoy volunteering in the community .Research Topic: Find a way to monitor good team cooperation, readiness, and communication of the surgical team through the use of the dual eye-tracking systems. This provides insight into team cognition by measuring cohesiveness of the individual team members gazes.
